DESCRIPTION:Friar Tuck's opened in Manitowoc twenty-five years ago this past July. The building that Friar Tuck's occupies at 3702 Calumet Avenue was built in 1969 and first opened as a Lums restaurant on October 29\, 1969. The owners at that time were brothers Karl and Ray Ohm. The Manitowoc Lums eventually changed its name to Ohm's Family Restaurant before being purchased by Fond du Lac resident\, Dave Noe.\n\n \n\nFriar Tuck's is managed by Kay Satori\, an employee of 15 years. The kitchen is managed by Al Thrasher\, an employee of 19 years. The original manager\, Lynn Wier\, just retired May 31\, 2013. Friar Tuck's prides itself in their employees and has numerous employees that have worked for the restaurant for years and years.\n\n \n\nHuge\, delicious sandwiches\, great service and value\; plus a fun-filled place to meet friends and relax after work is the reason Friar Tuck's has been chosen Best Sandwiches and Best Happy Hour year after year in the Herald Times "Best of the Lakeshore" competition.
