DESCRIPTION:All business leaders\, of businesses of any size\, shape or form\, are invited to participate in the Business Leaders Round Table Group. This is a Round Table group that meets every other month\, on the second Thursday of the month. This is a confidential setting for business leaders to share their best practices with other business leaders.  All participants will be required to have a signed Confidentiality Agreement on file at The Chamber.\n\n\n\nA typical Business Leaders Round Table Group meeting format/agenda will look like this:\n\n\n\nIntroductions\n\nGuest Speaker Presentation\n\nQ&A\, and facilitated discussion with Guest Speaker\n\nOpen Forum for Discussion on any Additional Topics\n\nBrainstorming of Future Topic/Speakers\n\n \n\nMay 11 Topic:  Succession Planning\n\n \n\nAll organizations can benefit from the principles of identifying crucial job skills\, knowledge\, social relationships and organizational practices and passing them on to prepare the next generation of workers\, ensuring the seamless movement of talent within the organization.\n\n\n\nThe same holds true for the organization looking to pass ownership on to family members\, employees\, or an outside interest.   What strategies need to be implemented to make this a successful journey?\n\n\n\nOrganizations must nurture leadership talent continuously as it is vital to the success that they will enjoy in the industry.\n\n\n\nA comprehensive succession planning process includes the following:\n\n\n	Training. The preparation of an employee to perform the tasks required for his or her current role.\n	Development. The practice of equipping an employee (or group) for future roles and responsibilities.\n	Career planning.  An employee-centered practice of identifying the interests of the employee and assisting that individual\, as well as providing personal development options consistent with those talents and interests. \n	Career management. An organization-centered practice of creating jobs and organizational structures that promotes the achievement of business objectives.\n	Replacement planning. A shorter-termed practice of identifying replacements for personnel in key operating functions.\n	Succession planning. The future-focused practice of identifying the knowledge\, skills and abilities to perform certain functions and then developing a plan to prepare multiple individuals to potentially perform those functions. \n\nJoin us on May 11th to explore the possibilities and get some questions answered.
