SUMMARY:Chamber Webinar: Federal Wage and Hour in the COVID Era
DESCRIPTION:Federal Wage and Hour in the COVID Era\n\nFor many employers\, there is significant confusion as to what federal wage and hours laws mean during these COVID-19 times we live in. As many employers know\, the requirement that covered employers provide paid sick leave to workers under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act expired on December 31\, 2020. But there are other federal wage and hour laws. And it's crucial that employers understand what those laws mean in these 'non-normal' times we live in. This session will help employers connect those wage and hour dots as they navigate through COVID-19 challenges in the workplace.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker:\n\nCorey Walton\n\nCommunity Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist\n\nU.S. Department of Labor\, Wage-Hour Division\n\n\n\nCorey Walton has been with the U.S. Department of Labor/Wage-Hour Division since 1997. He spent 15 years as an investigator investigating hundreds of cases under several laws including the Fair Labor Standards Act\, Davis-Bacon and the Family Medical Leave Act. Over the past ten years\, Corey has served as the Community Outreach & Resource Planning Specialist (CORPS) in Wage and Hour's Minneapolis District Office. In that capacity\, Corey spends most of his time organizing and conducting DOL educational and training events throughout the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota.
