DESCRIPTION:Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is celebrating our independence of becoming our own non-profit organization in the Manitowoc community under the non-profit name of CASA of East Central Wisconsin.   CASA serves children that have been adjudicated to be in need of protection and services due to abuse and or neglect by a parent and or caregiver.  Manitowoc County CASA Program had been operating under Lakeshore Community Action Program since the program originated in 2006.  In order to grow to serve the many children on our waiting list\, it became time to become an independent organization!  We recruit\, screen\, and train everyday citizens from our community to be the voice of abused and neglected children in the courtroom\, seeking to ensure them a safe and permanent home.  Currently we have our office in the Beacon Organizational Consulting Building at 812 Washington Street.  Please join us on November 18th at 4:30 for our ribbon cutting with refreshments to follow.
