SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting Celebration for 1st Floor Redesign at Manitowoc Public Library
DESCRIPTION:Manitowoc Public Library would like to invite you to the Ribbon-Cutting Event for their First Floor Redesign. Three years in the making\, the invaluable input and support from our community made this a far more comprehensive\, inclusive process. Thank you! \n\n\n\nIn 2017\, the library underwent an analysis process to assess our current space and project out the needs of our community for the next twenty years\, taking into consideration current needs as well. The primary focus of our goal was to improve the patron experience. Ideas came from MPL staff\, community focus groups\, community surveys\, and consulted professional resources\, as well as from tours of other public libraries in eastern Wisconsin. The developed layout plan was definitely made stronger by all the staff\, patron\, and community feedback we received.\n\n\n\nWhile many changes have taken place two areas that will be prominently featured at the Ribbon Cutting ceremony will be the Idea Box (our new hands-on learning makerspace\, made possible as a result of generous grant from The West Foundation) and The Hangout (our relocated and reconceived Teen Scene area)\n\n\n\nWe are excited to showcase these changes and provide self-guided tours of these new areas\, as well as refreshments. Please mark your calendars for February 19 at 4 PM. We hope to see you there!
