Sail Leadership Activities - (An Experiential Evening)

Leadership is a skill that has to be practiced and developed through experiential training. There are certain things in this world that we simply cannot learn through a discussion or intellectual conversation. There are things that simply can't be explained in easy enough terms without actually learning them through experience. Focus, Discipline, Respect, Leadership and other life skills cannot be learned by reading about them in a book, they have to be practiced and experienced to truly understand.
1. Team Building/Leadership Activities (30 minutes)
Leadership is a quality that some are born with whereas many people have to work really hard to acquire. The encouraging news though is that these qualities can be honed through interesting leadership activities. We’ll pick one of our fun and interesting leadership activitiesfor attendees to participate in.
2. Simple Safety/Protection Skills (20-30 minutes)
Would you be able to defend yourself and your loved ones if someone were to physically attack you? Most of us don't want to consider this question, but unfortunately, violence is a fact of life. Thankfully, regardless of size, strength, or previous training, anyone can learn several effective self-defense techniques. Some discussion here and a couple of simple skills to get you
started.
3. Empowerment Activity (20-30 minutes)
Each attendee will have the opportunity to break through a board "karate" style...a metaphor that will signify breaking through to your unlimited potential. Each participant gets the opportunity to be empowered and create their own “breakthrough” experience by overcoming self-imposed limitations.
Our goal is to make all the activities suitable so that anyone can participate. No special physical talents are needed. Safety is our main concern.
