Description
The Safety, Health & Wellness Committee will be hosting an educational session on Workplace Wellness: Cultivating a Culture of Balance on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Orion Energy Systems from 7-9:30am. The talks will include an overview of how to integrate best practices into your work culture, create work life harmony for yourself, mental health/illness resources, stigma around mental health, getting connected with your local NAMI, and more.
Session Speakers:
Sue Shaw: Sue Shaw is a retired registered nurse with a 42-year career in nursing, during which she held various leadership roles. Her expertise includes six years as the Director of Nursing in Behavioral Health where she developed and implemented strategies and programs to improve mental health care delivery. In addition to her professional achievements, Sue has dedicated the past four years to advocate for mental health awareness as a member of the NAMI of Manitowoc County Board of Directors. She is currently serving as the Interim President of the Board of Directors for 2025. Sue is committed to providing education, advocacy and support for individuals with a mental health diagnosis and their family members. |
Stacey Mohr: Stacey Mohr is the Associate Director at NAMI Wisconsin, the state chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. She has been with NAMI Wisconsin for 8 years and helps support the 22 local NAMI Chapters across WI, providing resources, guidance and technical support in the areas of organization development, governance, fundraising, events, mental illness education and more. Stacey created and oversees NAMI Wisconsin’s Workplace Wellness Initiative, that connects employers and employees of all sizes with presentations, resources, and E newsletters, providing support for education on mental illness, mental health and wellness initiatives in the workplace. She has a background in nonprofit leadership and consultation, program development, event planning, volunteer management, fundraising, strategic planning and workplace wellness initiatives and believes that mental health is just as important as physical health and works to support the state of Wisconsin as we improve the quality of life of those affected by mental illness, their families, promote and provide recovery and end the stigma. |
