Refinery Technician I
Position Summary:
You can take pride in operating equipment that produces high quality, all-natural food grade soybean oil in our Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certified facility. As a self-motivated, safety-minded, reliable team member with a strong mechanical aptitude, you have the drive to learn and excel at monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting our refinery process, testing and ensuring product quality, and loading outbound bulk tankers.
Location: Valders, WI
Reports To: Refinery and Bottling Plant Manager
Work Schedule:
- Shift : 7 days on; 7 days off (rotation begins every Wednesday)
- Days: 5:00 am – 5:00 pm

Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor PLC and operations of refinery equipment and processes according to established SQF procedures
- Make necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency
- Maintain designated sanitary schedule to Quality Roasting standards
- Work with the Quality Assurance Technician to assist with basic quality control tests to ensure product meets specifications
- Learn to perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Learn to troubleshoot our refinery process by assisting Lead Refinery Technicians in resolving any production issues that may occur
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Lead Refinery Technician and/or Refinery Plant Manager
- Load outbound bulk tankers
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices based on our SQF Programs
- Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records of production data and quality test results
- Participate in safety training and adhere to all safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operation
- Perform other tasks, as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, refinery operations or similar industry experience; experience in food processing is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic understanding of refinery processes and equipment is a plus
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts
- Desire and ability to work independently and contribute to a strong team environment

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements and push/pull, carry/lift light to heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally kneel
