Manitowoc WI., February 6, 2026 – Ascend Services is excited to announce that sponsorships and registration are open for the seventh annual Throw With All Your Heart Fundraiser on April 11^th, 2026, at Tapped on the Lakeshore, Two Rivers. This is one of the nonprofit organization’s major fundraisers for the year and every dollar raised goes back into Ascend.
“We are so grateful to have an event that is still going strong and is in its seventh year!” said Deanna Genske, Executive Director.
Throw With Your Heart is a team event that features five head-to-head competitions. The five games include Axe Throwing, Golf, Hammerschlagen, Shuffleboard and Cornhole. The day also features a Celebrity Axe throwing competition which includes seven local “celebrities.” Anyone is welcome to challenge the celebrities for five dollars and the chance to win bragging rights. “Our Celebrity Axe Throwing features well known and prominent “local celebrities” from throughout Manitowoc County. It is a lot of fun and one of our most successful games.” said Deanna.
The celebrity axe throwers will be announced soon. Also, the celebrity competition from last year is back! Whichever celebrity brings in the most dollars from their turn as a celebrity axe thrower will win a special prize! It gives them incentive to invite people to come to the event and participate in the fun!
Returning this year is a silent auction with various baskets and larger ticket items and a Wine Pull. Deanna stated, “We really had a successful launch with these and felt that they really added to the experience. There is also the 50/50 raffle which goes on all day. We love the partnership that we have developed with Tapped on the Lakeshore. Sam Busse, the owner of Tapped, runs the Axe throwing portion of the competition and makes it fun for all the teams. Tapped welcomes us back every year and we are thankful for their generosity; we could not continue to do this without their help and support.”
This is a feel-good fun event that really raises awareness for Ascend. They serve over one hundred youth and adults with disabilities in Manitowoc County and it really helps Ascend to fulfill their mission which is to promote individual growth by providing community experiences, education, and employment opportunities to individuals with exceptional abilities.
