Description
Bird Breakfast & Migration Celebration
Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve is excited to announce this year’s Bird Breakfast and Migration Celebration events will include special guest Stan Tekiela!
The fun kicks off on Friday, May 10th with the “Uncommon Facts About Common Birds” program presented by Stan Tekiela. This fun and entertaining talk will offer fascinating facts about common birds seen at backyard feeders. Stan will challenge preconceived ideas about some common birds such as the European Starling, American Crow and many more. You will never look at birds the same way again! This program begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Nature Center.
The Bird Breakfast and Migration Celebration event is on Saturday, May 11th from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and is the longest-running event at Woodland Dunes Nature Center. Enjoy a ham and pancake breakfast and a morning of fun learning about birds. Meet wild birds during bird banding and release demonstrations.
At 10:00 a.m., everyone is invited to help Woodland Dunes dedicate the new Harold W. Alyea viewing tower. This newly completed tower overlooks the marsh and the West Twin River and was made possible by a generous donation from Jack and Laurel Alyea.
Registration is required for the Friday program and for Stan Tekiela’s guided nature hike/big sit. Space is limited, call early. 920-793-4007. Admission for the Friday program is $8. Admission (includes breakfast) to the Bird Breakfast and Migration Celebration event: Adults $6; Children $5 and kids under 4, free. Attend both the Friday program and Bird Breakfast event for just $12 total.
