Hope House of Manitowoc County is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) that serves as Manitowoc County’s only homeless shelter for families. Hope House, formerly known as Lakeshore Interfaith Hospitality Network, has been providing overnight shelter accommodations, meals and support to homeless families at its current location in the old St. Boniface Rectory for over two years. Prior to 2010, Lakeshore Interfaith Hospitality Network, with the dedication and assistance of many Host Congregations throughout Manitowoc County, served homeless families from 2004 to 2010.
Homelessness is a devastating experience for families and throughout recent years has affected more than 900 families in the Manitowoc area. Members of those families could be our congregation members, work colleagues or have children that attend school with our children, but most of all they are our neighbors.
Join us at Hope House to kick off our Fall 2012 Flicker of Hope Campaign and help us combat the growing problem of homelessness in the Manitowoc community. We will be offering tours of the shelter every 30 minutes starting at 5:15pm and staff and Board Members will be presenting on what services we offer and how we are working to make Manitowoc a better community. Come help us put a small "flicker of hope" in the world of those that are less fortunate and living in need in our community!
