Lakeshore Aviation provides the air operation services at the Manitowoc County Airport, monitoring all inbound and outbound flights. It also sells various blends of aviation fuel for piston and jet aircraft and provides aircraft maintenance, flight instruction, airplane rental, hangar rental, aerial photography, and air charter services. Curt Drumm, longtime Manitowoc resident, is the company’s president and chief pilot.
Air charter can be extremely valuable to area businesses who have realized the truth of the maxim “Time is the currency of the new economy.” While commercial air travel is plagued with flight cancelations and delays, security inconveniences, lost luggage, and baggage and destination restrictions, personal charters can fly to small airports closest to your destinations -- on your schedule -- saving time, and arriving refreshed, ready to do business.
Lakeshore Aviation’s air charter fleet has recently been upgraded to include a twin turboprop King Air C90, a six passenger business class aircraft. With new paint and a stunning leather interior, the King Air is its most spacious and fastest plane with the longest range, filling a need of our clients to transport more people further and faster, with nicer amenities. The fleet also has an economical three-passenger Piper Seneca and a four-passenger Cessna 340, both twin engine propeller driven aircraft. Additionally, through our charter partners, larger jet aircraft can be brought in to accommodate larger business groups.
Lakeshore Aviation is continuing to grow, having recently established a partnership with Smyrna Air Center, Nashville, TN to sell King Air engine upgrade and restoration services. Smyrna is well regarded for its aircraft maintenance and restoration services, and is the only company licensed to upgrade the King Air C90 with the new GE Aviation H80 replacement engines. The GE H80 is a great improvement over the original engine, having more power, greater fuel-efficiency, and superior maintenance economies. Lakeshore Aviation’s King Air is the first in the country to be upgraded with the new engines.
