Description
"The Future Wisconsin Project"
Presented by: Jim Morgan, Vice President, Wisconsin Manufacturers Commerce (WMC) & President, WMC Foundation
Learn more about Jim...
Three years ago, the WMC Foundation visited over 50 Wisconsin communities to talk to more than 300 manufacturers. The topic? Talent...or the lack thereof.
Eighteen months ago, the Foundation traveled to all 16 technical colleges and reached 1,200 businesses, government and education leaders to gather their thoughts on what it would take for Wisconsin to be the most competitive state in the nation.
A little over a year ago, WMC, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, Department of Workforce Development, University of Wisconsin System, Wisconsin Technical College System, Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and Department of Public Instruction came together to launch, "The Future Wisconsin Project."
And, in December 2014, more tha 400 people attended the first annual Future Wisconsin Economic Summit.
During that time, six critical areas were identified: Talent Development, Attraction and Retention; Business Competitiveness; Global Engagement; Government Effectiveness; Life Quality; and Entrepreneurial Spirit. Talent & Business Development was chosen as the first focus.
Join us at this Business Connects with Government to learn about what findings have transpired in the area of Talent and Business Development, and take a deeper look at some of the summary data collected.
Updates from Government Officials to follow Morgan's presentation.
