CAREERS ON WHEELS

The Chamber of Manitowoc County is pleased to introduce “Careers on Wheels” on Wednesday, December 4th, 2013.
 

We are seeking approximately 30 businesses that will showcase their vehicles and/or special equipment. Register today and be a part of the excitement in developing our future workforce.

"Careers on Wheels" will bring career awareness to 5th grade students providing them a way to actively view various careers in the Manitowoc County area. Workforce Development is an initiative of The Chamber and this exciting event is sure to bring Manitowoc County careers in the forefront of the students’ minds. Students will have a chance to observe and interact with workers from several different fields and to see their vehicles up close and personal. They will visit the stations and view the vehicles on a rotating basis in 10 minute intervals throughout the morning.

Each business participant is asked to share with the students:
• Description of the job and related jobs that use the vehicle or equipment
• What personal characteristics make this job a good fit for you
• What part of the job do you find the most exciting
• Demonstration of how the equipment and or tools work
• Why the job is important to the company and the community
