EMPTY THE SHELTERS! BISSELL Pet Foundation TO PAY ALL ADOPTION FEES AT LAKESHORE HUMANE SOCIETY BISSELL Pet Foundation (BPF) will help EMPTY THE SHELTERS, a free pet adoption event being held Saturday Nov. 19th from 11am-4pm. BPF will pay all adoption fees which average $135 for dogs and $70 for cats. "Our goal for EMPTY THE SHELTERS is to encourage people considering a pet to choose adoption first," Cathy Bissell notes. "We hope that families in the Manitowoc area will open their hearts to the wonderful cats and dogs at Lakeshore Humane Society to give them a much-deserved, second chance at life." BPF, a national nonprofit headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, seeks to make a significant impact on pet homelessness with EMPTY THE SHELTERS events across the country. As many as 150 cats and 30 dogs are expected to be available at Lakeshore Humane Society on Sat. Nov. 19th 2016. Adoption requirements include: Proof of Rabies vaccination of current pets and proof of home ownership/pet policy in rental agreement, if applicable. Other restrictions may apply* and adopters are encouraged to come prepared with all adoption requirements. To expedite the adoption process we are emphasizing the importance of filling out an adoption application prior to attending the event. Please bring appropriate leash, carrier, or kennel based on the type of pet you are interested in adopting. Although it is our ultimate goal, there is no guarantee of same day adoption in all circumstances.
