Description
In Wisconsin, businesses lose 1.6 billion dollars in productivity costs every year because of illness and premature death from smoking-related illnesses. 3 billion dollars in health care costs are paid in WI as a result of diseases caused by smoking. (The 2015 Burden of Tobacco in Wisconsin report). Most businesses agree that is makes sense to encourage employees to quit smoking and implement smoke free workplace policies. How hard can it be? Is it really THAT difficult to quit smoking?
Join The Chamber Safety, Health & Wellness Council at the Great American Smoke Out Luncheon to discover different options and tools your company can implement during Great American Smoke Out 2015 on November 19.

11:30am – 11:50pm: Registration and Lunch
11:50am – 12:05pm: Cath Pape, Tobacco Control Coordinator for re:TH!NK, the Lakeshore Tobacco Prevention Network helps build awareness of the health risks and supporting environmental changes that promote smoke free air.
As a former smoker, Cath will share her story about what lead to her make the decision to quit smoking and challenges she faced when she realized the grasp nicotine had on her physically and emotionally.
12:05 – 12:20pm: Michelle Froehlke, Employee Benefits & Worksite Wellness Consultant, Ansay & Associates LLC will share how smoking effects insurance costs, innovative ideas for health plan structuring/premiums to incentivize employees to quit smoking, and how smoking can/could effects benefits other than just healthcare, including short term disability, worker's comp., etc.
12:20 – 1:00pm: Tobacco Free Campus Panel to include Larry Lang, Jagemann Stamping Company; Sara Suckow, KI - Manitowoc; Tom Fitzgerald, Parker Hannifin HPD; Maureen Raynier, Ironwood Plastics and Holly Peterson, Festival Foods.
