Keep It Simple: A Small Business Guide to Developing a Marketing Plan
The Marketing Plan for People Who Hate to Plan! Let’s face it. Developing a marketing plan is not usually at the top of a small business owner’s list. Running the day-to-day operations can be time consuming, and marketing often gets pushed to the bottom of your to do list. But it doesn’t have to be that way … proactively planning your marketing program now will make it easier to manage your business in the long-term. And the good news is, a marketing plan doesn’t have to be anything lengthy or fancy – sometimes short and sweet is the right solution. In this program, Laura Wiegert, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Investors Community Bank, will provide a one-page template that small businesses can use to develop their own marketing strategy. Laura will take you through each step in the plan and work with you as you complete the various sections. Participants will leave with the start of a working document they can use to help plan their business’ marketing program.

Laura has been in the marketing field for 30+ years and has a wealth of related experience. She has been the lead marketer at ICB for 5 years, where she develops the bank’s strategy for marketing, communications and customer experience. Her previous work includes owning and operating her own marketing consulting firm for 15 years, working with small to medium sized businesses throughout Northeast Wisconsin. She also spent several years in healthcare marketing at organizations such as Holy Family Memorial, Bellin Hospital and Leede Research. She also loves volunteering her time and talents to area nonprofits and business groups such as the Chamber, Progress Lakeshore and Ascend Services Inc.
