Description

Great Lakes Trucking LLC, located at 815 E. Albert Drive, Manitowoc, was established by Ryan Schroeder and Michael Wolfe.  Ryan and Michael were both born and raised in Manitowoc and have had ties to the local communities their entire lives.  Therefore, when Ryan and Michael joined forces to establish Great Lakes Trucking the answer of location was clear (Manitowoc) so that they could give back to the community that had given to them so many times over the years. 

Both Ryan and Michael come from backgrounds in the transportation industry, so it is no wonder that their enthusiasm and experience would be in the trucking and transportation industry.   Ryan grew up working on the docks and driving for another local trucking company, with which they now continue to work closely and do business with.  Michael has a significant background in auto and diesel mechanics, which started at a young age as he grew up working in the family owned bussing company.  His expertise in diesel mechanics is a strong suite for the company.   It has provided the company with the ability to maintain reliable equipment to provide the utmost quality service to their customers. 

At the time GLT was founded, Ryan was the owner of Schroeder Transportation, located in Manitowoc, and Michael was the owner of Wolfe and Son Transportation, also operating out of Manitowoc. Each operated under contract with local building supply stores.  GLT began operations in 2012 with the merging of Schroeder Transportation and Wolfe and Son Transportation. They began with only two trucks and three trailers, and now in just over a year have grown to seven trucks and twelve trailers that service the lower contiguous 48 states but specializing in the Midwest.
