Description
Silver Lake College of the Holy Family is proud to present Alternative Spring Break: Joplin, MO, an art exhibit documenting students’ experiences in Joplin, Missouri. Students who took part in the annual Alternative Spring Break volunteered with members of the Silver Lake College faculty and staff in collaboration with members of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ in Two Rivers to contribute to rebuilding efforts in the Joplin community, which was devastated by an EF5 tornado on May 22, 2011. The exhibit is located in the Silver Lake College Cafeteria Gallery, at 2406 South Alverno Road in Manitowoc, and is open to the public from 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Thursday, and 8 am to 4:30 pm on Friday and Saturday, from March 25 until May 8, 2013. The exhibit features student photographs, crosses made from tornado debris, and student statements about the experience.
