Description
The Safety, Health & Wellness Committee will be hosting an educational session on Workplace Wellness: Cultivating a Culture of Balance on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Orion Energy Systems from 7-9:30am. The talks will include an overview of how to integrate best practices into your work culture, create work life harmony for yourself, mental health/illness resources, stigma around mental health, getting connected with your local NAMI, and more.
Session Speakers:
Sue Shaw: Sue Shaw is a retired registered nurse with a 42-year career in nursing, during which she held various leadership roles. Her expertise includes six years as the Director of Nursing in Behavioral Health where she developed and implemented strategies and programs to improve mental health care delivery. In addition to her professional achievements, Sue has dedicated the past four years to advocate for mental health awareness as a member of the NAMI of Manitowoc County Board of Directors. She is currently serving as the Interim President of the Board of Directors for 2025. Sue is committed to providing education, advocacy and support for individuals with a mental health diagnosis and their family members. |
Danya Paley: Danya Paley is the Outreach & Development Coordinator at NAMI Wisconsin where she furthers relationships with donors and community supporters to enhance NAMI’s mission, furthers the Workplace Wellness initiative through presentations and quarterly newsletters, and organizes quarterly volunteer events. Before working at NAMI Wisconsin, Danya received a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Community & Nonprofit Leadership and Jewish Studies. Danya is passionate about helping others in her community and is excited about engaging community members in conversations about mental health and share how NAMI Wisconsin's programs and goals are continuously making a difference throughout Wisconsin! |
