St Francis of Assisi Parish - Business Manager

The Parish Business Manager for St. Francis of Assisi Parish requires the ability to be a mentor and leader to empower a strong, committed, and excited parish staff. Someone with a broad depth of experience in leadership and operational excellence in all facets including Pastoral Planning, Human Resources, Finance, and Facility Operations. Hands-on leadership skills in a small office environment and a desire to be a part of a parish community, embarking on a journey to expand our faith, discipleship, and the related joys and challenges.

General areas of responsibility include

  1. Hospitality 
  2. Implementation of the Parish mission plan (PMP) 
  3. Parish facilities 
  4. Regional Catholic School facilities contact 
  5. Administrative 
Knowledge 
  • Knowledge of Catholic teaching and actively practicing Catholic faith.
  • Accounting practices, budgeting, money management and diocesan requirements 
  • Personnel policies and practices according to diocesan requirements 
  • General understanding of Catholic traditions and theology in order to provide a holistic parish context for decision-making. 
  • Knowledge of Discipleship and Stewardship documents of the Catholic Church. 

Skills Required
  • Public relations - clear written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution. 
  • Leadership skills.
  • Pastoral/Strategic planning, Human Resources including benefits, finance/accounting, and facility operations. 
  • Work with volunteers and staff in a team environment, and use a consensus model in committee work when appropriate.

    Abilities
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with the pastor, other team members, and volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. 
  • Support volunteers for various ministries. 
  • Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Manage time effectively and delegate when appropriate. 
  • Administrative skills, organization and detail-orientation 
  • Confidentiality, tact and discretion 
  • Multi-task oriented, work independently, taking initiative to solve problems 
  • Recruit, encourage and work with support staff and volunteers 
  • Property management experience.

  • All other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate
