Roncalli Catholic Schools is a 3K through 12th-grade Catholic school system located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin that serves the greater region of Manitowoc County. The system is comprised of 3 school buildings (grades 3k-4, 5-8, and 9-12) that form a unified learning community that serves the whole child – mind, body and spirit – while fostering academic excellence. JOB SUMMARY
Position Description: The Director of Finance and Human Resources serves as a key member of the Roncalli Catholic Schools leadership team, responsible for managing and overseeing all financial and human resource operations across the K-12 system. This individual ensures the fiscal health and integrity of the organization, supports strategic financial planning, and promotes stewardship of the school system’s resources in alignment with its Catholic mission and values.
Ideal candidates demonstrate commitment to faith, academics and service while being strong role models. Candidates also will promote a positive, charitable spirit and nurture the system environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership and Oversight
- Manage all accounting and financial operations using AccountingWare software.
- Supervise and support the accounting and payroll team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Assist the President in developing and monitoring the annual operating budget and long-term financial plans.
- Responsible for all aspects of the Wisconsin School Choice Program as it pertains to the Roncalli Catholic Schools.
- Prepare and present accurate, timely financial reports to the Board of Trustees, Finance Committee, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and present accurate information for annual audit.
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and ensure prudent investment and spending practices.
- Support the President and Board in establishing tuition rates, salary structures, and other key financial parameters.
- Collaborate with department heads and site leaders to create and manage departmental budgets.
- Track and report on endowment performance and collaborate with Advancement Director to ensure compliance with donor restrictions and investment policies.
- Manage and plan for long-term capital projects, ensuring proper allocation and tracking of designated funds.
- Manage all financial aspects of any capital campaigns, including tracking pledges paid and project expenses.
Human Resources Oversight
- Supervise the HR Specialist to ensure accurate and compliant execution of HR functions, including onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and employee relations.
- Maximize HR efforts through the effective use of PayCom human resources software.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive, faith-filled workplace culture that reflects the values of Roncalli Catholic Schools.
Strategic and Mission-Driven Collaboration
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and leadership team on all financial and HR matters.
- Promote transparency, accountability, and ethical stewardship in all financial practices.
- Build strong relationships with faculty, staff, and community partners through kindness, approachability, and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial management; experience in nonprofit, school, or faith-based organizations preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supervising accounting or HR staff.
- Proficiency in AccountingWare or similar accounting software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and ethical financial stewardship.
- Practicing Catholic or individual who wholeheartedly supports the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Kind, approachable, faith-filled, reliable, and team-oriented.
Other Requirements:
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required for board meetings or special events.
- Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license, with no serious violations.
- Ability to use a computer or phone app for logging work hours.

Pay: $75k – $85k depending on experience and qualifications

Position under at-will agreement.
Wages are paid semi-monthly, on the 15th and last day of the month.
