E&I Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift
Description / Scope / Mission
Perform machinery and facility maintenance activities, while enhancing safety, product quality, production output and cost control to achieve plant goals
Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
- Troubleshoot, read and modify mechanical blueprints and perform root cause analysis for plant equipment.
- Design and specify materials, fabrication/millwright/mechanical hand tools.
- Requires strong ability to instruct and lead others.
- Safely installs and maintains all electrical components for production equipment and other systems at the Company.
- Installs conduit and related wiring according to the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Safely installs, calibrates, and maintains all instrumentation and control valves for production equipment and systems at the Company, according to established procedures.
- Installs and maintains Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Troubleshoots and adjusts electrical systems and instrumentation to safely maximize production.
MARGINAL JOB DUTIES:
Assist with other duties as directed by management.
Education / Certification / Qualifications / Experience
- Solid background in control of industrial processes
- Must display ownership of project(s), including the willingness to work hands-on with assemblers in plant
- Requires specialized knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, and theoretical mechanics
- Experience with NEC
- MCC, Switchgear, Transformers
- 4160V, 480V
- PLC communications
- NFPA code
- VFD Drive Setup and Programming
- Industrial Electrical Safety Procedures and Codes
- PH Probe, Flow Meter, Consistency Meter, and Level Sensor Calibrations
- Control Valves
- I/O communication system
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
- Forklift certification.

- Use foot/feet to operate machine up to one-third of the time.
- Stand; walk; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
- Use hands to finger, handle or touch; talk or hear 2/3 and more of the time.
- Up to 10 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
- Up to 25 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
- Up to 50 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
- Up to 100 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
- Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).
- Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).
- Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED:
- Various hand tools, welding equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PPE REQUIRED:
- Exposure to wet, humid conditions (non-weather); exposure to outdoor weather conditions up to 1/3 of the time.
- Work in Chemical manufacturing facility.
- Work in high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock; and exposure to vibration 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
- Work near moving mechanical parts 2/3 and more of the time.
- Medium factory noise.
- PPE as required by job.
