Position Overview
Manitowoc County Habitat for Humanity is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Executive Director Trainee. This multifaceted role is designed for an aspiring leader ready to transition into executive management. Working in close partnership with the current Executive Director, the Trainee will engage in strategic planning, day-to-day operational oversight, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate will balance rigorous administrative fundamentals with community-facing leadership to champion and advance the organization’s mission and vision.
As a cornerstone of our succession plan, this position offers extensive professional development, including specialized training in non-profit financial management (QuickBooks) and grant acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Leadership Support: Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop, refine, and execute organizational strategies, policies, and operational practices.
- Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day administrative functions to ensure compliance, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Community Engagement: Serve as an ambassador for Habitat for Humanity; eloquently articulate the organization's impact to community partners, donors, and stakeholders.
- Financial & Capacity Building: Participate in budget management using QuickBooks and actively assist in researching, writing, and managing grants to fund expanding programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required (preferred fields include Business Administration, Non Profit Management, Human Services, or a related discipline).
- Strong fundamentals in office administration, organizational management, or non-profit operations.
- Demonstrated leadership potential with a proactive, growth-oriented mindset.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to connect authentically with diverse community groups.
- Direct experience or strong aptitude for learning QuickBooks, financial tracking, and technical grant writing.
- A deep commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Habitat for Humanity.
