2024 Grammy Nominated Hans Christian Ambient Melodic Cello Concert: Friday, May 10th, at 7:00 pm
Hans Christian offers solo concerts where his unmistakable cello playing moves the listener with a haunting beauty. Using the cello in combination with live looping and various ethnic string instruments, he explores a universal musical language that transcends boundaries, cultures, and generations.
During a concert, Hans will create harmonic and ambient textures in ever changing colors and densities to create a listening experience that ranges from meditative to passionate. At times, a soaring cello is supported by a fully orchestrated layer of strings while at other times painting a restrained meditative sonic space to take the listener into deep introspection.
The artist also incorporates esoteric instruments, such as the Indian sarangi or the Swedish nyckelharpa, to blend with the cello, and he may also include sound bowls, cymbals, and flutes to create meditative and devotional listening experiences.
