The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble season will conclude our season with “An American Salute: Wisconsin Rhapsody”: a celebration of musicians, composers, and musical selections related to our great state! Each piece has been selected to evoke a sense of spirit and pride in Wisconsin, and our country. We are excited to feature a combination of cornerstone works for wind band, original songs, and patriotic selections.

Guest pianist Dr. Justin Krueger, Vice President of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association will be performing Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, which recently turned 100 yeas old! Works by Wisconsin composers will be featured including LWE’s own Brian Van Ells and Gary Audry. Audry’s arrangement is the title track for the WWII mini-series Masters of the Air, which will be performed along with the video trailer. Our veterans will also be honored during the concert with service songs for each branch.

Guest vocalist and retired music educator and retired Lakeshore Wind Ensemble/Lakeshore Big Band vocalist/assistant conductor David Bourgeois returns to the Capitol stage to sing several pieces including Mansions of the Lord, As Time Goes By, and America the Beautiful. You don’t want to miss this tribute to Wisconsin with LWE conductor Jeremiah Eis at the helm and a favorite lakeshore artist, David Bourgeois!
