Ascend Services 7th Annual Throw With All Your Heart Fundraiser Set for April 11th

Manitowoc WI., March 24, 2026 – Ascend Services is thrilled to announce the seventh annual “Throw With All Your Heart” fundraiser, taking place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Tapped on the Lakeshore in Two Rivers. As one of Ascend’s signature fundraising events, 100% of proceeds directly support the organization’s mission to empower individuals of all abilities.
Reflecting on the event’s growth, Executive Director Deanna Genske shared, “Our very first Throw With All Your Heart was held in February 2020—just weeks before the world changed due to the pandemic. To see this event not only continue, but thrive into its seventh year, speaks volumes about the strength and generosity of our community.”
This lively, team-based fundraiser features five competitive events: axe throwing, golf, hammerschlagen, shuffleboard, and cornhole. One of the most anticipated highlights is the Celebrity Axe Throwing Competition, where local leaders and business owners compete to raise the most during their 30-minute time. For a $5 entry fee, attendees can challenge a celebrity thrower and compete for ultimate bragging rights. “The Celebrity Axe Throwing Competition adds an extra layer of fun while bringing the community together around familiar faces from Manitowoc County,” Genske added.
This year’s celebrity participants include Mayor Justin Nickels; Scott McMeans (Vice President, Doneff Companies, LLC, and Manitowoc Public Utility Commissioner); Amanda Sitkiewitz (Market President, Bank First); Bob Seal (Senior Vice President, Nicolet National Bank); Ashley Henneman and Annie Skinkis (Co-Owners, Luxe Beauty Bar); Dr. Baley Mikita (Owner, The Optimal Health Co. Chiropractic); Nicole Wooton (Owner, Bold Blazer Group); and Ryan Morris (Owner, Ryan’s on York and Co-Owner, Courthouse Pub).  Adding an exciting twist, the celebrity who raises the most funds during their axe-throwing session will win a special prize—giving participants even more reason to rally their supporters.
In addition to the competitions, attendees can enjoy gift basket raffles, a returning Wine Pull, and the popular 50/50 raffle. “We’ve worked hard to enhance the experience for our guests this year,” Genske said. “We’re excited to introduce new games and prizes that keep the event fresh and engaging.”
The event is hosted in partnership with Tapped on the Lakeshore, with owner Sam Busse overseeing the axe-throwing portion of the competition. “Tapped has been an incredible partner, welcoming us back year after year,” Genske noted. “Their generosity and support are instrumental to the success of this event.”
Serving more than two hundred youth and adults with disabilities in Manitowoc County, Ascend Services relies on this fundraiser to support programs focused on community involvement, education, and employment opportunities.Throw With All Your Heart is more than just a fundraiser,” Genske concluded. “It’s a celebration of community, inclusion, and the meaningful work we do every day at Ascend.”
