Community Call to Action: Paint a Mural with Ascend Services!

Manitowoc WI., May 1, 2026 – Join us on June 13th at the Ascend Services Community Center (2802 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc) for a day of creativity and community spirit. In partnership with artists Don Krumpos and Erin LaBonte, we’re inviting residents of all ages and abilities to help us paint a new landmark that celebrates diversity, hope, and personal growth.

"Public art signals a place of creativity and reinforces that this space is for everyone," says Executive Director Deanna Genske. Beyond just beautifying our building, this mural is designed to foster neighborhood pride and build lasting connections between neighbors.
 
No experience is necessary—just bring your energy and help us transform our center into a vibrant symbol of our community!

  • What: Community Mural Paint Day
  • When: Saturday, June 13, 2026 | 9 am – 3 pm
    Rain date: Sunday, June 14, 2026 | 9 am – 3 pm
  • Where: Ascend Services Community Center, 2802 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc, WI 54220
  • Cost: Free; all paint and supplies will be provided. Wear old clothes.
  • Who: Open to the public
Serving more than two hundred youth and adults with disabilities in Manitowoc County, Ascend Services is committed to providing community involvement, education, and employment opportunities.
