CORE Treatment Services Awarded Prestigious HRSA Rural Opioid Response Grant

Manitowoc, WI – [9/26/24]– CORE Treatment Services, a leading provider of addiction treatment and recovery services in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is proud to announce that it has been selected as one of only 18 recipients nationwide for the Rural Opioid Response Grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). CORE is the sole organization in Wisconsin to receive this honor, chosen from a highly competitive pool of over seventeen thousand applicants from across the United States.
The HRSA Rural Opioid Response Grant is part of a federal initiative aimed at combating the opioid crisis in rural communities by expanding access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services. This grant provides essential funding to organizations that are dedicated to improving health outcomes for individuals struggling with opioid use disorder in rural areas, where resources are often scarce.
"Receiving this grant is a tremendous honor and a testament to our team's hard work and dedication in the fight against opioid addiction," said Carmen Persaud, CO-Executive Director of CORE Treatment Services. "This funding will allow us to further expand our services, not only in Manitowoc but also in the counties of Shawano, Waupaca, and Door Co., where we currently have established services. We aim to ensure that individuals in rural areas have access to life-saving treatment and recovery programs."
With this grant, CORE will be able to enhance its comprehensive services, including outreach, prevention, and recovery programs, to better serve rural populations in Wisconsin. The funding will also strengthen CORE’s partnerships with several Native American organizations, addressing the unique challenges that Native communities face in combating the opioid epidemic.
By expanding its reach and continuing its collaboration with diverse partners, CORE Treatment Services is well-positioned to create meaningful, lasting change in the communities it serves. This funding will enable CORE to build upon its already impactful work, ensuring that individuals in Wisconsin’s rural and Native American communities have access to the care and support they need to overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.
