Farm Wisconsin Celebrates Farming Heritage

MANITOWOC, WI–Farm Wisconsin invites visitors to farming’s evolution with Heritage Day Saturday, September 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event includes several activities and attractions but emphasizes antique farm machinery. Antique tractors and machinery, provided by Mid Lakes Rustic Iron Club, Patz Equipment of Pound, WI and individual community members—including Farm Wisconsin’s chef—will take over the east parking lot. Individuals who wish to exhibit their farming antiques receive two free admissions to Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, and may register at info@farmwisconsin.org.

“Fall is a great time to get out and celebrate the harvest,” says Abigail Winkel, Farm Wisconsin brand manager. “Hosting this event allows us to not only focus on modern practices, but also recognize how far advancements in agriculture technology have brought us.”

Attendees can connect the past to the present by exploring 10,000 square feet of interactive exhibits that highlight Wisconsin’s diverse agriculture industry and modern technology that keeps it efficient. In addition, the Land O’Lakes Birthing Barn, a highlight at Farm Wisconsin, offers visitors the rare opportunity to witness the live birth of a calf.

The Wisconsin Café will feature a honey apple pancake special made with Sunset Apiaries honey and Whispering Orchards apples. The café serves breakfast, lunch, and homemade soups crafted with locally sourced ingredients from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
