The Manitowoc County Historical Society has announced topics and dates for its upcoming lecture and dinner series programs. The series Hungry for History features a history based presentation and a meal.
The first program of the year is Lost Treasures of Manitowoc County (part 2), and will be held on Wednesday, March 18 at 11 am at Time Out Sports Bar and Grill, Manitowoc. Historic structures can be lost to time. Join the Manitowoc County Historical Society in uncovering some well-known former landmarks. Travel along with a photographic journey! Doors open at 11:00 AM, Buffet opens at 11:30 AM, and the program starts at 12 Noon. Registration is required by March 8.
A program on 100 Years of WOMT will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 5:30 pm at the Venue, Manitowoc. The program is sponsored by Rummele’s Jewelers and made possible by support from WOMT 100. Discover the rich history and celebrate 100 years of WOMT radio with this Hungry for History series program. You’ll enjoy a 1920s style evening with curated cocktail, a chance to meet and mingle with your favorite on-air personalities, and enjoy a buffet dinner by Our Legacy Restaurant and Catering. Then sit back for a presentation through a century of radio - the history of WOMT’s presence in our local community - and a Q and A with panelists - Lee Douglass, Damon Ryan, and Terry Stevenson, moderated by Jim Medley. Doors open at 5:30 PM, Buffet opens at 6:00 PM, and the program starts at 6:30 PM. Registration is required by March 20.
