The Manitowoc County Historical Society Museum and Pinecrest Village, 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc, will hold a themed field trip on Thursday, March 12 from 10 am to 2 pm. The focus of the field trip will ask guests to consider
“What if we measured time in Grandmas?” Participants will take a look at history through the lens of the generations before them. While touring through various living history stations, participants will look at events in our history with the lens of grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. What was the world like for each of these generations - going back to 1776.
This is a self-guided program. It is suggested to allow at least 2 hours to experience all the stations. Groups are welcome to set aside a time and space for a lunch break.
Grandparents receive free admission! Bring your grandparent along to learn about their lived history (no need to register grandparents with student registration).
This program is open to all public, private, and home school students. Reservations are suggested one week before the program date, with final reservations 48 hours before the program begins (if not sold out prior). This program is for pre-registration only.
Additional themed field trip and homeschool programs will take place throughout the year including: Adages (May 7), Civil War School Day (September 25), Your Voice - Your Vote (October 27), and Home of the Holidays (November 24).

About the Manitowoc County Historical Society Museum and Pinecrest Village
Nestled in the scenic rolling Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside of Eastern Wisconsin, the Manitowoc County Historical Society is a museum of living history. This 60-acre interpretive museum of local history features a Welcome Center with local history exhibits and research services and the outdoor Pinecrest Historical Village - a collection of over 25 historic buildings with period furnishings from Manitowoc County's early settlers.
Pinecrest Historical Village began in 1970 with a land donation from the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family. The Village has grown to represent a reproduction of a small Wisconsin community during the early 1900s. The buildings form the commercial, social, and political core of a town and they represent several architectural styles of Wisconsin's history. The furnishings, items, and tools in the various buildings used by the Pinecrest Village interpreters are either original pieces or carefully researched reproductions.
