Lakeshore College Earns 2025-26 Military Friendly School Designation
CLEVELAND, WI – Lakeshore College was named a Military Friendly School for the 16th consecutive year by Viqtory, a national organization that connects the military community to educational and entrepreneurial opportunities and civilian employment.
The college was again recognized by Viqtory for 2025-26, with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community, for this award and being a Military Spouse Friendly School in the small community college category. This year’s ranking was denoted as silver.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools from across the country participated in the 2025-26 survey.
Lakeshore partners with area resources including County Veterans Services, Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Federal Veterans Administration to ensure access to resources that support the success of veterans, as well as their spouses and dependents.
“Lakeshore College is here to assist our military students as they successfully transition into the college and civilian work environment. This recognition shows our ongoing dedication and commitment to supporting veterans and their families,” said Lakeshore President Dr. Paul Carlsen.
Tuition and material fee waivers, housing allowances, and additional stipends are available through the Wisconsin GI Bill. Lakeshore processes state-level Retraining Grant Applications for veterans who are dislocated workers, National Guard Tuition Grant Applications, and VetEd Reimbursement Grants. The college also participates in the My Career Advancement Account scholarship program that provides financial assistance to eligible military spouses pursuing careers considered portable.
