Lakeshore College Students Recognized by Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation & Phi Theta Kappa

CLEVELAND, WI – Lakeshore College students Kaven Lewis and Robert Talamantes have been named to the 2025 All-Wisconsin Academic Team by Phi Theta Kappa and The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. Lewis has also been named by the two organizations as the sole Wisconsin 2025 New Century Workforce Scholar and recipient of a $1,500 scholarship.

The New Century Workforce Scholar initiative is the first of its kind to support students at associate degree-granting institutions on a national scale as they plan to enter the workforce upon completing a degree or certificate. Lewis is pursuing an associate degree in electro-mechanical maintenance. Nearly 2,100 students from more than 1,300 college campuses nationwide were nominated. Only one student was selected from each state.

Talamantes is pursuing associate degrees in cybersecurity and web and software development. In addition to his Phi Theta Kappa honor society membership, he is a member of Lakeshore’s Information Technology Club and TRIO.

“This award is special in many ways and recognizes members for their distinguished academic achievements and leadership accomplishments. These individuals are role models in their colleges and communities and are worthy of our respect and emulation,” said Phi Theta Kappa’s President and CEO, Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner.
