Press Release: Historical Society Invites Members to Share the Museum July 16-19

 

Manitowoc County Historical Society Members have the opportunity to share the museum site and its stories with family and friends in July. 

Wednesday July 16th through Saturday July 19th, Museum members can bring two general admission guests at no charge. 

"Share the Museum" is just one of the many benefits of being a Manitowoc County Historical Society member. Members get unlimited daytime general admission for one (1) year, receive printed membership cards, quarterly printed edition of HERITAGE, a seasonal Program Guide, and free complimentary research services. 

MCHS members also receive a 10% discount in the Museum Store, 15% discount on camps, workshops and special programs, along with other Member-Exclusive Events like "Share the Museum".

The Manitowoc County Historical Society is also a part of The Time Travelers Network. The Time Travelers is a free reciprocal membership network for historical museums, sites, and societies throughout the United States. The Manitowoc County Historical Society's McAllister House Welcome Center and 60-acre Pinecrest Historical Village are open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10:00am until 4:00pm through the end of September. 

 
 
About the Manitowoc County Historical Society
Nestled in the scenic rolling Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside of Eastern Wisconsin, the Manitowoc County Historical Society is a museum of living history. This 60-acre interpretive museum of local history features a Welcome Center with local history exhibits and research services and the outdoor Pinecrest Historical Village - a collection of over 25 historic buildings with period furnishings from Manitowoc County's early settlers. 
 
Pinecrest Historical Village began in 1970 with a land donation from the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family.  The Village has grown to represent a reproduction of a small Wisconsin community during the early 1900s. The buildings form the commercial, social, and political core of a town and they represent several architectural styles of Wisconsin's history. The furnishings, items, and tools in the various buildings used by the Pinecrest Village interpreters are either original pieces or carefully researched reproductions.
