Roncalli Pierside Auction ready to set sail for 41st year!
MANITOWOC, Wis. — Join Roncalli Catholic Schools as the Roncalli Pierside Auction celebrates returns for its 41st year.
“We are so excited to set sail with the Roncalli Pierside Auction once again,” said Candice Giesen, director of advancement for Roncalli Catholic Schools. “The Roncalli Pierside Auction has been anchored in the community for 40 years and this year will mark our 41st event, which is open to adults looking to enjoy an evening of fun.”
The spring 2024 auction, supported by the time, talents and treasures of many, had more than 700 registered bidders and 900 items up for bid between the online and in-person auction formats, which resulted in a profit of more than $300,000! The opportunity to bid on items online will again return as part of the Roncalli Pierside Auction, but it will not compete with the items that will be exclusive to the in-person event. The online portion of the auction will run from 3 p.m. Thursday, April 24 to 3 p.m. Monday, April 28 at roncalliauction.givesmart.com.
The in-person, adults-only event will take place Saturday, April 26 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Roncalli High School, 2000 Mirro Drive in Manitowoc. Admission is free and is open to the public.
Parking will be available in the high school’s Fine Arts Center lot with overflow parking in the Skana Aluminum Company lot. Shuttle service will be provided from the Skana lot courtesy of Brandt Buses, Inc. from 5:30-11:30 p.m. Attendees should enter through the Fine Arts Center. Food, desserts, water, soda, hard seltzer, beer, wine and Jet Lag, a beer created for Roncalli Catholic Schools, will be available for purchase in addition to the items up for bid in both the silent auction areas and oral auction. A coat check also will be available.
The public is welcome to come early for Mass, which will begin at 4 p.m. in the Zimmer Auditorium inside the Fine Arts Center.
The oral auction portion of the evening will be hosted by Giesen and Jason Prigge, auction emcee. Greg Schramm will serve as auctioneer.
A variety of items will be available at the in-person event and online, including sports memorabilia, experiences, décor, items for your home, fashion finds, children’s offerings and much more also will be up for bid! Items will not be duplicated between the two formats.
Some items not to miss are:
- Hop Locker Private Party for 20 with Tim Petersen, the owner, who will guide the group with a curated experience of bourbon, beer and wine. Delicious appetizers, by Luigi’s Italian Restaurant will complement the tasting.
- Exclusive romantic Riverbend in Kohler for a luxurious overnight stay for two.
- UW-Wisconsin Badger football tickets for a home game in October. Includes six tickets, parking pass and certificates to enjoy a day in Madtown.
Of course, we’re also bringing back the raffles! Grab your tickets for the Cash Raffle and a chance to win the top prize of $10,000 cash. Only 500 tickets will be sold for $100 each.
Tickets for the Cash Raffle, and UTV Raffle, featuring a 2023 Intimidator Classic XD4 750 utility vehicle, are on sale now. Only 200 tickets are being sold for $100 each for the UTV Rafffle. Tickets for both raffles may be purchased by stopping by Roncalli High School, 2000 Mirro Drive in Manitowoc, or by calling the Advancement Office at 920-686-8150. Each year, Roncalli Catholic Schools strives to keep tuition at an affordable level through financial aid and fundraising programs. In 2024-25, approximately 30 percent of Roncalli Catholic Schools’ revenue will come from fundraising, 50 percent from tuition and 20 percent from supporting Catholic parishes. Fundraising efforts, like the Roncalli Pierside Auction, are vital to maintain a quality Catholic education option in the Lakeshore area that focuses on the whole student – mind, body and spirit.
