Description

Lia, a sixth grader at Stangel Elementary and the founder of the Hopeful Hearts Club, created “Hope House Backyard Makeover”.  Lia’s idea was chosen by Disney to receive a Disney Summer of Service Grant for $1,000 last September.  Lia also reached out to Lowe’s Home Improvement in Manitowoc who offered supplies and helped Lia complete the project.  Together a new play yard, fence, landscaping, an outside library and reading area were completed. 

To celebrate their new backyard, Hope House (along with Lia) will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Ice Cream social.
