Boys & Girls Club of Manitowoc County Announces $35,000 Holiday Matching Gift Challenge to Support
Manitowoc, WI (November 20, 2024) – During this season of holiday giving, the Boys & Girls Club of Manitowoc County (BGCMC) is grateful to have received a $35,000 Matching Gift Challenge thanks to two local families. All gifts received, up to $35,000, by December 31, 2024, will be matched dollar-for-dollar to support the Club. This challenge helps ensure Manitowoc County is a great place for all kids to grow and thrive. Since opening in February 2022, the Boys & Girls Club of Manitowoc County has served more than 240 youth ages 6-12, by providing a wide array of learning opportunities, fun activities, health & fitness programs and more for children and their families. The BGCMC not only offers daily positive youth development programs and services, but a safe and welcoming place, surrounded by caring adults and countless opportunities for kids to grow and become the best versions of themselves. Eleven-year-old Landyn shares, “I like coming [to Club]; I get to be me...” The sense of belonging that Landyn and so many other kids experience at Club helps them not only build self-confidence and life skills but also encourages them to see their strengths and what they can achieve. Marcia, Landyn’s caregiver adds, “The Club is a safe place that gives him a sense of belonging.” Landyn is excited about pursuing his passions and has taken steps toward realizing his goals. Marcia believes “kids who attend Club can develop leadership skills and not just be followers. I’m hoping Landyn can start to see how he can impact others.” The work of the BGCMC is only possible thanks to the support from generous donors, community members, and volunteers.
