Y Day of Giving more than doubles its fundraising goal

MANITOWOC, WI -- The goal was $12,000. Manitowoc County had other plans.
In less than 48 hours, donors and matching sponsors combined to raise more than $24,000 during the Manitowoc – Two Rivers YMCA's annual Y Day of Giving campaign this March. The outpouring of support was immediate, enthusiastic, and deeply felt by everyone at the Y.
The funds go directly to the programs and people that make this Y so essential to our community: nutritious meals for children in after-school care, financial assistance for neighbors facing hardship, swim lessons, youth sports, specialty wellness programs for cancer survivors and those living with Parkinson's disease, and sponsored memberships for residents of local homeless shelters. Nearly 7,000 people rely on this Y every week, and gifts like these make sure the door stays open for all of them.
Four generous local sponsors made this campaign possible by providing matching gifts that doubled the impact of every donation up to $6,000:

  • Cool City Chevrolet
  • Nicolet National Bank
  • Summit Clinical Services
  • The Chiropractic Advantage

Their generosity and belief in this community set the tone for the entire campaign.
The enthusiasm of this campaign has already inspired more generosity. A donor, moved by the community's response, will be announcing an additional gift match later this month to help the Y reach its annual fundraising goal of over $200,000. Details will be shared soon.
To the donors, sponsors, members, and friends who showed up for this campaign: thank you. You remind us every year that there truly is no place like this place.
